Emmitt turned three on Tuesday! We had a big celebration on Saturday before. I asked him who he wanted to invite to his birthday party. He said, "Conwad!" It worked out great because my sister and her family were already planning to come up and stay that weekend!
He has really been into Nascar and race cars lately. So we went with a racing theme!
We have a local bakery I LOVE for birthday cakes! The quality and designs make the price worth it!
He needed some help!
Aunt Ola made him the perfect shirt to match the party for his special day!
A GIANT package came from our Uncle Seth, Aunt Jenni and the boys the night before the party!
Pin the car on the finish line.
Later that day, we took the kids to see Big Hero 6 in the theater. It was Emmitt's first time to see a movie in theater. He did well for the most part! I filled his popcorn cup twice and his drink cup three times! When he ran out of pepsi, he got restless. Eventually he ended up with my drink.
Posing with Baymax.
Blurry picture, but he insisted on holding "Conwad's" hand on the way to the car!
On Monday, we took a trip to the zoo. It was slightly windy out, but the temp was 72! On his actual birthday the high was 41! I love that my schedule gives me three full days to spend with him at the beginning of the week. It is as good as the time I spent with Jesstine when she was this age!
All morning he told Daddy he was going to see the "mingos" at the zoo! Here he is with the "mingos."
Making friends!
Face to face with a king cobra!
Chillin' near the chimp exhibit.
He wanted his picture by the waterfall.
For his actual birthday, we still had a few presents for him to open. I planned soup and grilled cheese for dinner because I knew he liked the sandwiches and it was FREEZING outside!!! Soup and hot sandwiches seemed like the best idea!
I didn't get the soup done in time and the kids have never been big soup fanatics, so I just heated some tomato soup for myself. Of course then Jesstine had to try it and that made Emmitt want to try it.
And because you HAVE to blow candles out on your birthday, another cake! He told everyone he had a cookie party on his birthday day.
He channeled his inner Randy (think Christmas Story) and showed us how the piggies eat!
This is the gift we saved for his birthday day. Everytime he saw this on TV he wanted it. I got him the little truck (in the middle with the blue ramp) to go with it because it came with a race car!
Grandmom came over a little later and brought this for him!
We will go next week to his doctor's appointment. In the meantime, we will be enjoying some warm baths before church tonight and some warm soup (because it wasn't ready last night) for dinner!
In Him,
The Hutchins Family
