For Christmas the kids got tickets to go see Disney Live's Pirate and Princess Adventure. It isn't Disney on ice. It is more like Sesame Street Live only not quite as well done in our opinion. It's a kid show though! How well done can it be?! The kids were bored through the first part (mostly Emmitt), but seemed to enjoy the second part. It featured Sofia from Sofia the First and Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, two shows on Disney and Disney Junior. We have seen every episode of Sofia the First and we watched the first several of Jake a few years ago when it came out. So, here are some pictures:
We were pretty far back and to the side, but they were the only 4 seats together that were available. I purchased these way back before Christmas.
Sofia
Royal Prep School
Sofia had to get some help from Cinderella to figure out what to give her friends at a party!
The royal family, King Roland, Queen Miranda, James and Amber.
This was the only exciting part of the whole first act. The only other thing that peaked Jesstine's interest was when Cinderella showed up.
Emmitt's favorite part was anytime Mickey was on stage!
The second half was slightly better with Jake, Izzy, and Cubby.
One of the more enjoyable parts of the show was this dance where the pirates all had buckets stuck on their feet.
Jake was captured by Captain Hook who stole their treasure map. To call for help from Peter Pan, they had to get Tinkerbell to light their lantern. The yellow light is Tink.
Stephen and I were waiting for the crowd to start chanting, "I DO believe in fairies! I DO! I DO!" They got TInkerbell's help without the chanting though.
Lantern lit!
It worked! Peter Pan showed up!
Jake was freed by Peter, but of course Hook woke up! So a (long and drawn out) sword fight ensued.
They got their map and were on their way...only to be chased down by Hook in the Jolly Rodger.
And once on the island, Hook was chased by none other than the crocodile! (The kids really liked this part.)
Because Jake is kind and brave, he agreed to help hook out by flying using pixie dust!
They all danced and sang one more time and Mickey and Minnie showed up again.
We of course were suckers and got the kids each one piece of overpriced swag (not pictured). The doll Jesstine is holding was actually from Christmas and was only $7-$10. At the show, they were selling for $30!!!!! She got a plastic Sofia figurine.
Emmitt got some Mickey Mouse binoculars.
This week, Jesstine is dressing up as a Native American to celebrate Kansas Day at school. She will also be celebrating the 100th day of school. We worked on a poster that will be displayed at school.
These are the costumes that Daddy and Uncle Seth wore!!!
100 google eyes!
